Tailor - FT
We are seeking an experienced Tailor to join our vibrant Costume Shop team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in tailoring, with a passion for creating high-quality costumes and wardrobe pieces for theatrical performances. As a Tailor in our theatre, you will be responsible for bringing costume designs to life, ensuring that each garment fits perfectly and enhances the overall visual impact of our productions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with costume designers to bring their vision to reality through expert tailoring techniques
- Take precise measurements and conduct fittings to ensure costumes fit actors comfortably and accurately
- Sew and alter garments using a variety of techniques and materials
- Pay close attention to detail to ensure the quality and accuracy of all costumes
- Maintain costume inventory and make repairs as needed
- Stay current on industry trends and techniques to continually improve skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience as a Tailor, preferably in a theatre or entertainment setting
- Proficient in various tailoring techniques, including pattern-making, draping, and garment construction
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, sewing machines, and other tailoring tools
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in garment construction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with designers, directors, and other production team members
